On the occasion of Vietnamese leader Tô Lâm’s official visit to France, Thibaut Skrzypek, a representative of the École nationale des ponts et chaussées within the French PFIEV consortium, attended the dinner held on September 10, 2026, at the Élysée Palace.

On September 10, 2026, President Emmanuel Macron and Mrs. Brigitte Macron hosted a large dinner at the Élysée Palace in honor of Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and Mrs. Ngô Phương Ly.

Thibaut Skrzypek, a representative of the École nationale des ponts et chaussées and spokesperson for the French PFIEV consortium, was invited to this meeting, which was organized as part of the Vietnamese leader’s official visit to France.

The bilateral summit held on the same day reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to making scientific and technological cooperation a new pillar of their comprehensive strategic partnership. The development of high-level expertise in sectors such as semiconductors, new energy sources, and rail transportation was also identified as a priority for Franco-Vietnamese cooperation.

These guidelines are closely aligned with the missions of the Program for the Training of Engineers of Excellence in Vietnam (PFIEV). Since welcoming its first class in 1999, the PFIEV has brought together four major Vietnamese institutions with a consortium of French schools and institutions. It contributes to the training of high-level engineers, the promotion of student mobility, and the strengthening of academic, scientific, and industrial cooperation between the two countries.

As the next National Continuing Education Council meeting—scheduled for November 2026 in Vietnam—draws near, PFIEV partners are continuing their efforts to adapt training programs to technological, economic, and environmental changes and to develop new collaborations between France and Vietnam.
