June 11, 2025 – Hanoi
As part of the PFIEV 2025 end-of-study project evaluation mission, several representatives of French engineering schools visited Hanoi’s University of Civil Engineering to exchange views with students and strengthen Franco-Vietnamese academic ties.
Thibaut Skrzypek, head of international projects at École des Ponts and spokesman for the PFIEV consortium of French institutions, led a captivating seminar on the theme of “Olympic structures for the Paris 2024 Games”. Through concrete examples from major infrastructure projects, students were able to discover how French engineering integrates sustainability, innovation and operational requirements on a global scale. The presentation was also an opportunity to answer the many questions about studying in France, scholarships and career opportunities in Europe.
Élodie Prud’homme Larrauffie, associate professor at INSA Lyon, presented a specialized lecture on “The potential of sustainable alternative building materials”, aimed at students in the Materials Engineering program. The talk enabled students to explore the latest European trends in green building materials.
These exchanges illustrated the richness of scientific and educational cooperation between France and Vietnam, and gave future PFIEV engineers a concrete insight into the global challenges of their profession.
